Planetarium

Planetariums are being established in selected cities of the State to promote concept of astronomy/astrophysics based education through creating an interesting and stimulating ecosystem, with the state-of-the-art projection systems along with a special dome to recreate the appearance of night sky indoors with stars and planets. 

A state-of-the-art planetarium has been established at Pilikula Regional Science center in Mangalore and was opened for public in March 2018.  The existing Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru has also been upgraded with modern opto-mechanical and digital projection systems and was inaugurated in January 2017.
